New Horizons San Diego offers anti-sexual harassment training to bring your business in compliance with this very important California law.

Per the California 2010 Labor Law Digest :

“California employers with 50 or more employees must give supervisors within California two hours of sexual harassment training within six months of hire or promotion, and every two years.” (Note: despite training being required for employers with 50 or more {the 50 includes contractors} only, ALL California employers prohibited from harassing employees in the workplace, and can be faced with harassment charges).

The training must include, but is not limited to the following:
  • Definition of unlawful sexual harassment under California and Federal Laws
  • State and Federal statutory provisions and case law principles concerning unlawful sexual harassment
  • Types of conduct that constitute sexual harassment
  • Remedies available for sexual harassment
  • Strategies to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace
  • Practical examples such as factual scenarios taken from case law
  • The limited confidentiality of the complaint process
  • Resources for the victims of unlawful sexual harassment
  • Who victims should report any alleged sexual harassment
  • The employer’s obligation to conduct an effective workplace investigation of a complaint
  • Training on what to do if the supervisor is accused of harassment
  • Essential elements of an anti-harassment policy
  • How to utilize their policy if a harassment complaint is filed by a current or former employee
  • Either the employer's policy or a sample policy must be provided to the supervisors
